The man from Castle Rock who took more than a hundred thousand dollars from a fundraiser to pay for ex-President Trump’s “border wall” will spend 5 years in federal prison…

A judge in New York sentenced Timothy Shea to that term Tuesday, and ordered him to pay millions back for his crime. Prosecutors said Shea and other organizers of a crowd-funding campaign all promised that donations people made would go to the construction of a “wall” along the US-Mexico border. Instead, they took hundreds of thousands for themselves. Last October, Shea was convicted on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and money laundering. Tuesday, he was sentenced to more than 5 years in prison. He was also fined 1.8 million dollars, and will have to pay the victims of his crime another 1.8 million in restitution. Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon was pardoned of federal charges in that case by Trump, but he’s still fighting charges in state courts. Two other men pleaded guilty.
