An iconic Colorado landmark is closing to the public…
The Crystal Mill is among the most photographed places in Colorado, but bad behavior has caused the small business owner to shut their doors. Previously you could pay 10$ to access a trail that took you to the river bank below the water mill, but Owner Chris Cox has since scraped away the path. Reportedly people have abandoned the previously held “leave no trace” code of ethics. Visitors had begun prying pieces of wood from the 131 year old water mill, with some even throwing parties inside of it. In light of the closing, the owner has expressed a desire to start a foundation to help preserve the mill.
