 A Drug bust near Grand Junction has led to multiple arrests…

The drug bust that began on I70 has led to 116 felony charges, with many suspects being arrested in Jefferson County. After a 9 month investigation by the West Metro Drug Task Force, 16 suspects have been indicted on drug charges. More than 400 pounds of methamphetamine has been seized by authorities, with the total amount of drugs found equaling more than 350,000 lethal fentanyl doses. According to the 16 suspects, they would buy from a mexican drug cartel and then sell to Jefferson County and the greater denver area. 10 arrests have been made so far, with 6 still pending.

Express lane tolls are making a return this Tuesday…

The Colorado Department of Transportation has announced they will be reinstating tolls on Central 70 express lanes on July 11th. The price will range between a dollar 50 and 4.50 if you have the Express Toll Pass, the rate will change depending on the time of day. The express lanes will be free to motorcyclists, commercial vehicles, and carpools with certain qualifications.

The state of Colorado is officially no longer in a drought…

For the first time in 4 years, Colorado is no longer considered to be abnormally dry. Recently the US drought monitor published an update on moisture levels within the state, showing levels unseen since 2019.

Public transportation could be free in your area…

Over two dozen transit agencies in Colorado are participating in the “Zero Fare for better Air” program, which was put into place by the Regional Transportation District last year. For the months of July and August many bus and rail trips will be free in an effort to keep down ozone levels. Ozone is the main ingredient of smog, which has become a big issue for Colorados Front Range. This program aims to get more people using public transit, and put less smog in the air.
