Even some places that are more urban, like Arapahoe County, are having a tough time. Its rural roads are in many cases washed out to where there are impassable gaps in the traffic lanes, or sinkholes have developed. Arapahoe even says its own estimates show up to 40 percent of its country roads were already in poor to very poor condition. Its road maintenance crews are now as much as 6 weeks behind schedule. Three of those roads are said to still be closed, after recent flooding.
