Prior to last night, the Avalanche had lost their previous 2 home games at Ball Arena, by a combined 7 goals.  Before that, no opponent could touch the Avs at home.  Colorado seemed to get its groove back last night, however, ripping the Ducks, 8 to 2.

The Broncos’ Marvin Mims has been named the AFC’s Special Teams player of the week, as he totalled 75 yards on 3 kick returns last Monday, putting the team in good field position, at their 39-yard-line or better, to start multiple drives.  Mims is the first Bronco to earn that honor since Justin Simmons in his rookie year of 2016.

Women’s college basketball last night saw the CSU Rams beat New Hampshire, 67 to 45.  CSU was led by McKenna Hofschild (HOFFS-child), with 14 points and 13 assists.  The 3 & 0 Rams get a visit from South Dakota’s Coyotes next Tuesday.

In Boulder, CU women’s basketball has shot up from Number 20 to Number 5 in national polling this week, a rapid rise and the Buffs’ highest ranking since going Number 2 back in 1994-95.
