During last night’s Avalanche game, the club dedicated its broadcast booth at Ball Arena to the late Peter McNab.  In the game itself, Arturi Lekonen (LEHK-oh-nehn) was slammed head-first into the boards.  Lekonen gingerly left the ice and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.  He could move his extremities, but Coach Jared Bednar says he’s very worried.  Seattle’s Kraken eventually won the game, 4 to 3.

Women’s college basketball last night had the CSU Rams hosting Alabama A&M, and the Rams’ McKenna Hofschild (HAHF-shilld) was the only Ram scoring in double figures, with 26, including 3 of 5 shooting from 3-point range.  Colorado State wins easily, 83 to 39.

The University of Denver men hosted Cal Poly Thursday, and the Pioneers cruised to an easy 97-76 win. 

The Broncos have had a week off with their bye, and they’re gearing up to face former teammate Von Miller for the first time since he was traded to the Rams in 2021, as Denver visits Buffalo on Monday night football.  The now-Bills linebacker has only good things to say about his 11 years in Colorado…

The Broncos and Miller’s Bills kick off Monday evening at 6:15.

In Boulder, Coach Prime Deion Sanders admits his quarterback and son Shedeur (shuh-DEWR) has been suffering injuries through all the hits he’s been taking this year.  The younger Sanders is the most-sacked college football quarterback of the season, who’s also passed for one of the highest yardage totals in the country.
