The Denver area’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater, just west of the city, has been a big deal for Coloradoans and visitors alike, for many years. But now, there’s a clearer idea of just how much the facility’s draw helps the state and Denver economies…
(Red Rocks Study :37)
The Denver-based consulting company BBC Research has completed the first-ever study of Red Rocks’ impact, and its report shows the economic boost last year alone was around 717 million dollars. That includes the actual entertainment, the effect on bars and restaurants, transportation, and hotels. It all adds up– counting concertgoers and performers, more than 1.7 million people visited Red Rocks in 2022, for some 217 ticketed events. And about 30% of those attending were from outside the Denver area, according to those consultants. They add that the uniqueness of the venue often outweighs for many visitors the fact that there are many other locations closer to their homes, to see their favorite artists perform.
