The Avalanche opened the NHL season facing the Kings in LA last night. The Avs started out hot with Nathan MacKinnon scoring the season’s first goal. Cale Makar (muh-KAHR) also put one in the net early, as did Mikko Rantanen. Final score, the Avs 5, Kings 2.
A shakeup within the Broncos organization… Greg Penner is now officially the “controlling” owner of the team. Rob Walton has transferred part of his ownership to Penner and his 4 children.
The Broncos have a difficult enough task to worry about tonight, playing the week’s first NFL game on the road against the Chiefs in Kansas City. Since the Chiefs have won 15 games in a row from Denver, some don’t consider the traditional “rivalry” much of one anymore.
And the leading passer in college football this season is Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, with 2020 yards so far. He’s also thrown 16 touchdown passes, versus only 2 interceptions.
