Return to Nature Investigation

It appears getting answers in southern Colorado is going to take quite some time.  Multiple law enforcement agencies are now setting up for a long-term stay in the small community of Penrose, to fully investigate the “Return to Nature” funeral home there…

They’re just beginning the process of removing dozens of dead bodies from inside that facility.  Trucks have been brought in from the Fremont County Coroner’s office, and the local Emergency Management department was on that scene early Sunday.  They’ve set up corridors of tents leading to the front, back, and sides of that building.  The location’s expected to be that way for the foreseeable future.  Investigators are starting the grisly task of removing and identifying some 115 sets of human remains from that ex-funeral home.  “Return to Nature” had billed itself as an “environmentally friendly” funeral service, where bodies were not embalmed, and sometimes caskets made of materials like wicker were used.
