October got off to a warm and windy start for much of Colorado Sunday, and lots of folks took advantage of that to drive into the mountains and admire the fall colors in the trees. But a lot of those leaves could be dropping soon, as forecasters warn conditions will soon be changing…
(CO Wx Outlook :31)
The state’s temperatures have run above average for this time of year much of the last couple weeks, with highs in the 70’s and 80’s. Now, the meteorologists say later this week, things will start to feel a bit more like fall in many places. Winds were blowing strongly in much of the state over the weekend, in the 20’s and sometimes more than 30 miles an hour, both in the high country and out on the eastern plains. Those strong gusts are expected today, as well. Those forecasters now say a storm system that’s been brewing to our west will move into Colorado the next couple days, bringing a cold front and some rain to a lot of places along with those lower temperatures.
