Colorado Springs Police say about 4 Thursday afternoon, a driver named Justin Kula (KOO-luh), ran over the pair and drove away. It wasn’t clear whether they’d contacted him before the crash that occurred near I-25 and Bijou. Kula was arrested about 7:30 last night, but authorities didn’t say where. The second officer who was hit was in a Springs hospital, but there wasn’t any word on his condition. First responders used the Wireless Emergency Alert system for a “blue alert,” notifying every phone statewide to be looking out for that suspect.
