Thursday, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser (WISE-uhr) announced a settlement with Choice Hotels, a company that had been accused of doing exactly that. Choice owns multiple brands, including Comfort Suites, Rodeway Inn, and Country Inn & Suites. Weiser’s office says the company misrepresented room rates and mandatory fees, and did something called “drip pricing.” That’s where you keep learning about new fees while going through each step of the booking process. With the new settlement, Choice Hotels will now have to inform customers about not only the rates, but all those fees, up front…
