Loveland Ski Area staffers spent much of the day testing out their snow guns. Their goal for starting to actually lay down a base of snow for skiers and riders is only about 11 days away now. Dozens more resorts around the state are checking out their systems as well, as leaves begin to change color and a lot of Colorado prepares to get covered in whiteness. A few early natural snowflakes accumulated Tuesday for a dusting atop Quandary Peak, near Breckenridge in Summit County.
