CU’s “Coach Prime,” Deion Sanders, said in his Tuesday news conference that Colorado State defensive back Henry Blackburn does not deserve death threats for the hit that took out Buffs 2-way star Travis Hunter for the next few weeks with a lacerated liver. Sanders is looking for other players to step up and fill Hunter’s shoes on both sides of the football the next couple weeks, against Oregon and Southern California.
The Rockies didn’t get a hit until the 9th inning of last night’s game in San Diego, but before that, outfielder Brenton Doyle made a diving outfield catch for a Padres out. Padres still win, 2 to nothing.
