Colorado now has a little more than 3 months left to meet its goal of bringing gray wolves back into the state…
(Wolf Reintroduction Still A Problem :34)
Finding “spare” wolves from other states has been a challenge. Colorado asked Wyoming for wolves, and was told “no.” Idaho and Montana also turned Colorado down. State Parks & Wildlife says it’s now talking with Oregon and Washington. Complicating the search further, Colorado Politics now reports some state lawmakers want to know if Colorado would be taking in animals that have histories of attacks. That came up at a committee meeting this week. Wildlife officials have long said wolves with a history of attacking livestock or pets are more likely to do it again. CPW told the committee they’re “only requesting wolves with no recent attacks.” It’s not clear what “recent” means.
