Both those children were being held on adults’ laps. And unfortunately, they were far from alone– of 236 people who’ve died in Colorado traffic crashes so far this year, 126 were not belted in. CDOT stats show 3 of every 5 deaths in rollover crashes happen because seat belts weren’t used.
TAG– Investigators are still looking into the cause of that late Saturday/early Sunday wreck, but it initially appears the SUV turned in front of that semi before the impact. Good Samaritans on the scene took 2 people to hospitals, even before ambulances could arrive.
