Some fans are complaining that although the Broncos have been through a lot of changes the last couple years in ownership, coaching, and new players, the results still seem to be the same, with the team struggling to score points or make the necessary big plays to win. Some players say they just have to learn from stinging losses like Sunday’s to the Raiders, and move ahead.
The team will have to move on without a promising member of the defense– 3rd-year safety Caden Sterns went down early in Sunday’s opening game, and is expected to be done for the season, having suffered a torn patellar tendon in one of his knees.
College football has reached Rocky Mountain Showdown week, this year with the new-look CU Buffs hosting the CSU Rams in Boulder Saturday. The 92nd edition will get a ton of national attention, with ESPN broadcasting the game and originating its “Gameday” show from Boulder. CU has beaten CSU in the game 5 years in a row.
And late-season baseball Monday saw the Cubs beat the Rockies 5 to 4 at Coors Field. The series continues today.
