That man told friends when he headed out Saturday, he was planning to climb in Officer’s Gulch, off I-70 near Copper Mountain. The Summit County Rescue Group says when that guy got more and more overdue to return, his friends initially went out looking for him themselves late Saturday night, but it was too dark, and the interstate’s traffic too loud, so they called 911. The Rescue Group returned early Sunday to the area the man had said he’d be in, with a drone from the Sheriff’s Office. They found the climber’s body in a nearby boulder field.
