The latest heat wave is expected to continue across Colorado today heading into the Labor Day weekend…
(Very Hot Holiday Weekend :34)
It was well into the 90’s Thursday, and forecasters say we’ll be even hotter today. Highs of 96 degrees are expected in Denver and Fort Collins this Friday, Sterling and Greeley may make 98 on the northeast plains, and a hundred is expected in Yuma. Farther southeast, LaJunta, Lamar, and Pueblo are predicted to swelter at 102 degrees. Red flag fire warnings will be up for much of the eastern half of the state, with humidity below 13 percent, and hot gusty winds above 30 miles an hour prevailing. The meteorologists say there’s holiday hope, however, with most of the state expected to drop back to the 80’s for Labor Day on Monday.
