Here’s a travel reminder for you– part of I-70 through the mountains is getting a makeover, the next couple weeks…
(New Overnight Work at Tunnel :30)
CDOT just shut down one lane of the eastbound interstate around 10 last night. The work to be done is coming between the Eisenhower-Johnson tunnels and the Georgetown on-ramps. Crews will be re-paving part of the eastbound interstate surface and some ramps, as well as replacing guardrails, and installing as many as 200 new signs. They’re also trying to keep the closures and work limited to the overnight hours, when there’s less traffic. It all started last night and after work begins each night at 6, the highway should reopen by about 8 each morning ‘til that work is done.
