Two new wildfires are burning in southwestern Colorado…
(Two New SW Wildfires vxr :20)
The Quartz Ridge and Bear Creek fires began last week, both caused by lightning strikes in the San Juan mountains. Combined, they’ve burned across about 700 acres so far. They’re burning in remote areas, where it’s difficult for firefighters to get to them. Officials say both fires saw substantial growth under red flag conditions Monday and Tuesday. They’re both at zero percent containment.
