The Broncos have lost top wide receiver Tim Patrick to a season-ending injury at the start of training camp for a second straight year. Just as drills began Monday, Patrick tore his left Achilles tendon. It happened almost a year to the day after he suffered a torn ACL in his right knee. And making a bad Monday worse for the Broncos, it turns out another key receiver, KJ Hamler, has a heart condition. The team waived Hamler, but hopes to re-sign him early in the NFL season.
After a 2 ½ hour rain delay, the Rockies and Padres started their baseball contest at Coors Field, opening a 3-game series. And late last night, Colorado finally got the win, 4 to 3.
