Investigators in 3 Colorado counties are now looking into claims of what’s being called “creepy” behavior by men on hiking trails…
(Alleged Creeps Along Trails :44)
So far, detectives think they’re dealing with 3 different people. Wheat Ridge Police told reporters Sunday they arrested a man after getting calls about someone touching himself on a trail through their local greenbelt open space. That man’s now in jail on a warrant from California tied to sex crimes, but he hasn’t yet been charged with Colorado crimes. In the past week alone, authorities in Jefferson and Douglas Counties shared warnings about similar brazen behavior on hiking trails. Officials in those counties say the Wheat Ridge suspect isn’t the one they’ve been seeking. There’ve been so many complaints on Jefferson’s mountain trails, deputies are now telling women not to hike alone. Since April, they’ve now counted 7 attacks at Flying J Park in Conifer and Three Sisters Park in Evergreen. They’re warning of a man or men targeting women who are out by themselves, often surprising them from behind, and exposing themselves. Signs have been posted along many of those trails.
