Firefighters are dealing with more wildfires across the state…
(Newest State Wildfire vxr :26)
They say several new fires seem to have been caused by lightning strikes. What’s said to be the fiercest one at the moment, is burning about 10 miles south of Crested Butte, racing down a ridge between the Squirrel and Mill Creeks. People in the Mill Creek area, near County roads 730 and 727 couldn’t go home last night. Firefighters say that blaze has burned about 400 acres, more than half a square mile. There was no containment reported overnight. Officials say there are unfortunately a lot of dead trees in that area, fueling the flames.
