There are a LOT of Americans going somewhere else leading up to tomorrow’s holiday…
(Big Air Travel Week vxr :46)
For the entire week of June 28th through Wednesday July 5th, unprecedented air travel around the US is expected. This past Friday, more than 2.8 million Americans flew somewhere, and that’s the most passengers in a single day, ever. Delays and cancellations only had an impact on a small percentage of flights, and airports, Friday through the weekend. But, that all came after a week of problems. Sunday, more than 29 thousand flights nationwide got delayed, with 1200 cancellations. At Colorado’s biggest airport, Denver International, there were some 350 Sunday delays, and 6 flights cancelled. Most of those problems involved United and Southwest Airlines, but showed a marked improvement from earlier last week, when half of each of those airlines’ schedules were running late. DIA expects more than half a million people to pass through its security by Wednesday, and the airport’s telling travelers to expect even longer lines than usual.
TAG– Denver’s got some extra TSA Pre-Check lines open, and you can now reserve a spot in the TSA line, 3 days in advance, online, for free.
