The previous rule had benefited black, Latino, and other students. The majority conservative justices claim in their ruling, colleges used race in a “negative” way. President Biden said he believes diversity benefits those schools, and the students. Colorado universities including Metro State-Denver are concerned. TAG– At the University of Michigan, black students had made up 7% of the student body in 2006, prior to that state’s ban. That number was down to 4% in 2021.
