After a pleasant and longer than expected fall, forecasters say it’s possible that some of the first snows of the winter could arrive in the state this week…

The meteorologists note this month has been unseasonably warm, especially on the front range, with several October days reaching the upper 80’s. And that could lead to record-setting heat today, with the top mark for Denver of 87 degrees having been set back in 1973. The prediction there is for a high at least in that 80-degree area today. But as high pressure moves east later in the week and a low system comes in, next weekend is expected to at least be much cooler. High temperatures across much of the state should be down into the 50’s and 60’s by Thursday and Friday this week.
