A federal judge is blocking Colorado’s first-in-the-nation law to ban so-called “abortion reversal” treatments…
(Ban on Medical Abortion Reversals vxr :36)
That decision was issued late Saturday night. It stops the state from enforcing the ban, as that case moves through the courts. A Catholic health clinic in Englewood sued to stop the law, back in April. It claimed the ban violated that religious organization’s First Amendment rights. The clinic claimed it provided “reversal” treatments to dozens of women, by giving them large doses of hormones, intended to “undo” medication abortions. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists says that approach is not backed by science. Despite that, the new ruling means the state cannot enforce the ban while courts consider the Catholic group’s suit, which could take years. Attorney General Phil Weiser (wiser) now has 30 days to appeal the ruling.
