This year’s extra hype for CU football under Coach Deion “Prime Time” Sanders is generating tons of attention nationwide. The team reached 1 million Instagram followers on Tuesday. The Broncos play their football on Thursday this week, hoping to generate some excitement in the state by snapping a 15-game losing streak to the Kansas City Chiefs. Brendan Malone had been a long-time assistant in the league, and was on the Pistons staff under Chuck Daly when Detroit won back-to-back NBA titles in 1989 and 90. He was also the first head coach when the Toronto Raptors were an expansion team.
Last night, with coaching duties taken over by assistants, the Nuggets won their first pre-season game of the year, beating the Suns in Phoenix, 115 to 107.
