The Broncos stood up for defensive coordinator Vance Joseph Thursday, as some reporters’ questions seemed to want the players to pin blame for last Sunday’s 70 to 20 loss to the Dolphins on him. Safety Justin Simmons, who didn’t play due to an injured hip, lots of things went wrong in the game, but they can never all be placed at the feet of any one person– it’s a team effort, whether winning or losing. Simmons plans to play Sunday against the also-winless Bears.
The Rockies got a rare win over the Dodgers Thursday night at Coors Field. Charlie Blackmon hit his 8th home run of the season, and Elhuris (ehl-hoo-REESS) Montero drove a homer out of the park as well, Colorado winning 14 to 5. Colorado plays its final series of the season against Minnesota, beginning tonight.
