The county says it’ll pay people up to 60 thousand dollars if they build, or convert existing spaces, to be rented out to locals. The hope is that the incentive will drive more owners to build so-called “Accessory Dwelling Units,” that can be rented long-term to people working in the county…

County Commissioner Tamara Pogue (POHG) adds that if property owners take that cash from the county, they can’t go listing those units as vacation rentals on sites like Airbnb. They’ll have to rent to people who work 30 hours or more a week in Summit.
