Forward Valeri Nichuskin (nih-SHOOS-kin) was said by many to have been the Avalanche’s best player in the Stanley Cup Finals 2 years ago, scoring 4 goals and dishing off 2 assists. But after an incident last spring at the team hotel during the Seattle series, Nichuskin was removed from the property and didn’t play in games 3 thru 7, as the Avs lost. But now Nichuskin is back with the Avs in training camp, and Coach Jared Bednar says he’s determined the forward has settled whatever issues were going on, and is now ready to go.
