It’s said to have been the closest of close calls, when that unnamed driver plowed through Boulder’s Central Park, attempting to hit people, but fortunately he missed all of them. The city says it’s going to close the park for 2 weeks, to work on repairing some of the damage that driver caused. It was about 6:30 Tuesday morning when the truck barrelled through, according to potential victim Tabitha Hage (hayg)…

Despite all that, Tabitha say it took a few moments for her to figure out what had happened. At first, she thought the guy was drunk, but then 44-year-old Bruce Alvey apparently stopped, and seemed to take aim at a large group of people, all of whom scattered to avoid the truck as Alvey made several passes. Police say he later ditched his pickup nearby and broke into a veterinary hospital. He was arrested on 4 counts of attempted first-degree murder, and police say Alvey was high on meth at the time of his rampage. He’d been homeless too, living in his truck before that incident.
