All that promotion is now known to have fueled an epidemic of addiction. The state has more than 700 million dollars to distribute, overall. Thursday, Attorney General Phil Weiser (wiser) said tribal communities have suffered some of the worst consequences of the opioid crisis. The tribes have to use that money to tackle the drug addiction problem. Denver is getting nearly 40 million dollars from the settlement. The city says it plans to use the funds to pay for a new treatment facility, launch a new anti-stigma campaign, and test wastewater for fentanyl.
