Copper says it hopes improving its soil could lead to better snow in the future, by doing what’s known as “carbon sequestration.” They’re trying to take some carbon out of the atmosphere, and put it into the ground beneath the trails. To do that, volunteers have spread native plant seeds from drought-resistant grasses and flowers onto the surface.
