Oops— the comic book thief who got away with some very valuable books after breaking into a Boulder store a couple weeks ago tried to sell those rare books, to the wrong guys…
(Comics Thief Caught Trying to Sell vxr :39)
Boulder Police say the thief was busted when he tried to sell the stolen material to another comics store in Colorado Springs. In late July, the guy had broken into “Time Warp Comics,” and gotten away with more than 13 thousand dollars’ worth of rare issues. Then only a week after that burglary, a man tried to sell the missing books to two stores in the Springs. Both store owners called police, saying they believed the items were stolen. Then last Friday, Boulder Police arrested 35-year-old James Ware for the theft. Detectives say they were able to recover most of the stolen books, but 5 of them are still missing.
