Good news for the Broncos– running back Javonte (juh-VAHN-tay) Williams will avoid getting put on the injured reserve list before training camp, because his surgically-repaired knee has been judged by doctors as ready, some 300 days after he tore an ACL. The team says Aaron Patrick, who also suffered an ACL tear last season, is also said to be good to go.
Sunday in Miami, the Rockies were trailing 2 to 1 in the 9th inning when Randall Grichuk (GRITCH-uhk) sent a homer out to deep left field, taking the game to extra innings. But with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Miami put a routine fly down in right field and the first runner scored to end the game, the final 3 to 2. Colorado starts a new series against the Nationals in DC tonight.
