That program will allow a number of community and technical colleges to offer free training to students, in 7 fields. They include nursing, along with firefighting, education, and law enforcement, where there are currently shortages of skilled workers. As many as 20 thousand students could step into those openings. They’ll all need to apply for financial aid, but the program says if they don’t need the help, that’s not a problem.
