His argument is at odds with what Colorado’s Republican Party has been saying. Chairman Dave Williams has tried and failed twice to change party rules to limit who can vote in GOP primaries. If Trump loses at this trial, his lawyers are expected to appeal and send the issue directly to the Supreme Court.
The plaintiffs have brought in police officers who were there the day the Trump mob stormed the Capitol, and played parts of the speech he made that day. A lot of their case is based on the January 6th report from Congress.
