It’s been more than a year now, since a Clear Creek County deputy shot 22-year-old Christian Glass to death as he called 911 during a mental health crisis…

The county now says it’s ready to start sending mental health teams to certain calls. That’s part of the court settlement between Glass’ parents and Clear Creek officials, which requires the county to launch a mental health co-responder program. The county says it recently hired a new paramedic and a crisis clinician, who can go to 911 calls for people with mental health emergencies, and other low-level calls that don’t require a deputy. Those services will only be available 40 hours a week to start. Some first responders from Jefferson County will be helping out, too.
