A Colorado court has convicted a Jefferson County man on three felony charges, for dragging a Capitol Police officer to be beaten by the mob that was on hand, on January 6th, 2021…
(Jeffco Man Convicted of Jan 6 Crimes :43)
Out of more than a dozen Coloradoans accused of committing crimes at the Capitol that day, Jeffrey Sabol’s case is one of the most serious. Prosecutors say Sabol traveled from his home in Kittredge all the way to Washington for ex-President Trump’s rally, that the then-chief executive had said in an online post, would “be wild.” Officials say he brought a knife, a helmet, and zip ties along, and joined the crowd outside the Capitol. Prosecutors say Sabol pushed a police officer down a set of stairs, and dragged another officer into the mob, where that officer was beaten by the crowd with items including a flagpole and a baton. Investigators note Sabol later tried to leave the country by flying to Switzerland, but he was arrested in New York. Last Friday, the judge found Sabol guilty of assaulting officers, federal robbery, and more. He’ll be sentenced in January.
