That statute would’ve gone into effect this week, making the age 21 instead of 18. The ruling came down from a federal court Monday afternoon, in a lawsuit filed by the group “Rocky Mountain Gun Owners.” It’s made similar moves at both the local and state levels before. The minimum age requirement is just one of several new gun rules pushed through the legislature by Democrats in this year’s session. Others include a ban on “ghost guns” that don’t have serial numbers, and a 3-day waiting period to make any gun purchase.
