The state Parks & Wildlife Division is renewing its summertime warnings about bears…
(Southern CO Bear Attack vxr :31)
That comes after a camper was bitten this past weekend, while just relaxing in a hammock. It happened late Saturday night, at a campground in the Purgatory river bottom, just east of I-25 in southern Colorado, near Trinidad in Las Animas County. CPW even put out a photo Sunday of the camper’s arm. Despite several tooth marks, that person’s said to be OK. He says he didn’t have any food out, or anything that would be expected to attract the bear, but CPW again reminds everyone to store food, drinks, and trash where the animals can’t get at them or even smell them, and keep your tents and entire campsite clean.
