The state\u2019s community colleges are accepting applications for the 39-million-dollar workforce development program. One example is that beginning next month, students will be able to study nursing at the Community College of Aurora, for free. That program will allow a number of community and technical colleges to offer free training to students, in 7 fields. They include nursing, along with firefighting, education, and law enforcement, where there are currently shortages of skilled workers. As many as 20 thousand students could step into those openings.
