US Highway 36 had to be closed in Bennett, a bit east of Aurora, late in the afternoon, after heavy rain, hail, and flooding, and it remained shut down overnight. Snowplows got a lot of the hail off the roads. Firefighters there had to rescue someone trapped in a vehicle, around 9 pm. First responders there also answered calls about several stuck cars and trucks 5 to 7 miles north of Bennett, in high, fast-moving water. There was also more of this summer\u2019s hail, rain, and flooding all across the Denver metro area. Side streets got flooded, so did I-25, and many drivers ended up stuck, surrounded by water. Even the dugouts at Coors Field were full of hailstones prior to the Rockies wrapping up their series with the Dodgers after a 2-hour delay. A couple cars were completely submerged a bit north of downtown Denver, so first responders used divers to make sure no one was trapped in them.
