As of 10 last night, the measure that would\u2019ve reduced TABOR tax refunds to offset some hikes in property taxes was losing big, by more than 20 points\u2026 61 percent opposed to Prop HH, only 39 percent in favor. The defeat was seen by analysts as a major repudiation of the Governor\u2019s tax plan, in a state where his fellow Democrats easily won statewide offices by double-digit margins, just last year. Polis hasn\u2019t said what he\u2019d do if HH was defeated, not announcing any backup plan to deal with a coming property tax spike. Of course, political observers note there can be property tax relief, if only legislators would choose to provide it without \u201cvoter approval.\u201d And it turned out several parts of HH didn\u2019t need such approval, either, but there was no word on potential backup plans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
TAG– The Governor spent last night at the Western Governors\u2019 Association meeting in Wyoming, and didn\u2019t give any Colorado reporters interviews about the election.
