The inside of that building was said to be so horrific, the investigators had to wear hazmat suits, and get help from the FBI. \u201cReturn to Nature\u201d in that town west of Pueblo had advertised so-called \u201cgreen\u201d burials, where bodies weren\u2019t embalmed. The state says instead, the operators failed to properly store people\u2019s remains, as deputies learned when they first arrived to investigate what neighbors had called a \u201cbad smell\u201d coming from the building. They initially thought there were about 150 bodies improperly stored there. By the time all of them were removed last Friday, the count was up to 189. The Fremont County Coroner\u2019s office is working to identify all those bodies and notify those late people\u2019s families, but it\u2019s not clear how long that\u2019s going to take. The owners of that funeral home are six figures in debt, and its state registration expired last November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
