The US Forest Service has a plan to rebuild one of Colorado\u2019s most popular trails. Now, they just need to find someone to do the work\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feds are asking for bids from anyone who\u2019d like to tackle the project, repairing the trail from near I-70, up to Hanging Lake. 2020\u2019s Grizzly Creek Fire extensively burned Glenwood Canyon, along with some areas along the trail. Then, heavy rain and flooding caused even more significant damage in 2021, with mudslides and more. The trail was completely buried for a while, with bridges and trees knocked down. Now, new flooding this year has damaged the site even more. The Forest Service says it hopes work can begin in the spring of 2024, running through November of next year.
