Sunday, the Broncos wanted to make it 2 wins in a row under Coach Sean Payton, especially over his predecessor Nathaniel Hackett, now running the offense of the New York Jets.  But none of that happened\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it wasn\u2019t even close.  Hackett\u2019s Jet offense was dramatically better than another former head coach, current Denver coordinator Vance Joseph, and his defense, and the Jets had no trouble winning the game 31 to 21.  The Broncos D gave up more than 400 yards of offensive success to New York, most of that on the ground.  Denver only scored 2 touchdowns, had a safety scored on them, and turned the ball over 3 times.  Coach Payton on the need to turn things around\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things won\u2019t get any easier for the Broncos, either–  they have a short week, before heading to Kansas City to face their arch-rivals, the defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs Thursday night.  KC has won the last 15 games in the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were a few bright spots in the game for Denver, including running back Jaleel McLaughlin pulling a pass in after bobbling it to score a 22-yard touchdown, but also depressing signs like quarterback Russell Wilson getting tackled in the end zone for a 2-point New York safety.  He also fumbled the ball away late, and it got returned for a touchdown.  The Jets ran for a season-high 234 yards Sunday, on the way to a 31 to 21 victory over the Broncos.  Linebacker Nik Bonitto (boh-NEE-toh) and Wilson\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this is a short week for the 1 & 4 Broncos.  They have to regroup quickly, because they head to Kansas City to play the Chiefs Thursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
