After more than 3 years of searching, the skeletal remains of former Maysville resident Suzanne Morphew were identified Wednesday through the use of dental records. Her body was found last Friday near Moffat, in Saguache (suh-WATCH) County, about 45 miles south of her home. Widower and original murder suspect Barry Morphew issued a statement through his attorney saying he was with his daughters last night, and they\u2019re heartbroken, having held out hope that Suzanne would return to them alive. Morphew had initially been arrested for killing his wife, but was released only 9 days before his trial was due to start. The charges were dismissed \u201cwithout prejudice,\u201d meaning they could be filed against Barry Morphew again. He\u2019d sued Chaffee (CHAY-fee) County, the CBI, and the FBI in May of this year for wrongfully accusing him, and was seeking 15 million dollars in damages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The skeletal remains of missing Suzanne Morphew were discovered near Moffat, in Saguache (suh-WATCH) County last Friday, and positively identified through dental records Wednesday. Suzanne had disappeared while on a mountain bike ride on Mother\u2019s Day 2020, near her home about 45 miles north of where she was eventually found.
